Hudbay Minerals’ 777 mine is an underground polymetallic mine that has operated in the prolific Flin Flon greenstone belt for over fifteen years. The polymetallic nature of the ore which contains copper, zinc, gold and silver makes 777 a low cost producer. In the year ended December 2020, ore mined was 991,576 tonnes grading 1.40% copper, 3.88% zinc, 1.90 g/t gold and 24.13 g/t silver, with 2021 production guidance expecting higher throughput similar to 2019 levels as ore mined in 2020 was reduced due to a Q4 2020 suspension of operations when the production shaft underwent repair.  Hudbay has publicly stated that the mine is expected to cease operations in 2022 based on current reserves.
