Hudbay Minerals’ 777 mine is an underground polymetallic mine that has operated in the prolific Flin Flon greenstone belt for over fifteen years. The polymetallic nature of the ore which contains copper, zinc, gold and silver makes 777 a low cost producer. In the year ended December 2019, ore mined was 1,109,782 tonnes gradingt 1.37% copper, 3.22% zinc, 1.61 g/t gold and 18.67 g/t silver. Hudbay has publicly stated that the mine is expected to cease operations in 2022 based on current reserves.
