The Wing Pond gold property comprises 31 map-staked claims covering 775 hectares in central Newfoundland. The property features an area of anomalous gold-arsenic-antimony values identified from a government regional lake sediment survey where gold mineralization has been identified over a strike length of 500m and includes grab samples up to 12.2 g/t Au, and channel samples of 9.8 g /t Au over 1.0 metre. The area has not been tested by trenching or drilling.
Limited prospecting in 2009 by Altius led to the discovery of galena-rich quartz veins approximately 2 km north of the Wing Pond gold showing from which three grab samples returned values between 2.7% and 13.0% Pb. Another sample collected 350 metres north of the Wing Pond showing returned values of 3.6% Pb, 778 ppm Zn, >440 ppm Sb, and 18 ppb Au. The new occurrence illustrates the under-explored nature of this project.
The 2010 exploration program will include trenching, mapping and sampling to define potential drill targets at the prospect and the recently discovered mineralization to the north.
