Vanscoy is a conventional underground mining operation located approximately 25 km southwest of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The operation has been in existence for over 40 years and has produced over 41mt of muriate of potash. The operation’s current annual production capacity is 2mt and Agrium is planning a brownfield expansion at the Vanscoy site which is scheduled to complete in the second half of 2014 and will increase annual production capacity by approximately 1mt. The expansion is partially covered by the existing PMRL royalty agreements.
Indicated mineral reserves at the mine as at December 31, 2011 totaled 362mt of ore with an average K2O grade of 24.6%. At current production capacity of 1.5-2mt of product nearly 50 years of mine life are projected at Vanscoy.Previous Page
